Mr. Charles A. Pinson Sr.
Mr. Charles A. “Tony” Pinson Sr. was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Old Mines, Missouri, to the late Theodore and Marie Pinson. He died at his residence on Oct. 9, 2012.
Tony is a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School in Farmington, MO. He is a magna cum laude graduate of St. Leo College, St. Leo, Florida, with a BA in business. He earned his MA, summa cum laude, from Central Michigan State in Business Management.
Tony is retired U.S. Army and a retired Postal Service employee. Tony is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5080 in Lake City, GA. He is also a life member of the American Legion, Military Order of the Cooties (MOC), Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the VFW National Home for Children.
Tony is a member of St. George Catholic Church in Newnan, GA.
Tony is survived by his wife, Monica, of 54 years; a son, Charles A. Pinson Jr.; three daughters, Monique and Harry Jobes, Michelle and Sam Durrance and Melissa Pinson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua and his fiancé, Rebecca, Andrew, Brenna and Jared Durrance; granddaughter Laelle and Eric Tucker. He is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Lilly and Lilliah Tucker.

McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan is in charge of arrangements. A VFW memorial service conducted by the State of Georgia VFW 3rd District Honor Guard will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the funeral home followed by the rosary lead by Deacon Steve Swope. The Vigil Scriptural Rite of Christian Burial will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., led by Deacon Jim Bishop. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Henri Atem and co-celebrated by guest priests on Friday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church in Newnan. His remains will be cremated following the Funeral Mass and placed in the cubiculum at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
