Mr. Lawrence Douglas McKoon
Mr. Lawrence Douglas McKoon, age 67, died Oct. 2, 2012, in Atlanta. He was a native of Newnan, Georgia, where he was born June 7, 1945, and was the son of Lawrence Wayne and Mary Elizabeth Tolar McKoon.
He was a graduate of Newnan High School and Georgia State University. His professional life was spent in Atlanta. Prior to his retirement he was owner of showrooms in Atlanta’s AmericasMart that catered to the interior design trade.
Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan. The graveside service for Mr. McKoon will be on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. in The Luthersville Cemetery with remarks by Dr. Bob Trammell. Doug is survived by his cousins, Robert U. (Bob) McKoon, Jessie Frances (Bootsie) Hill Efird, Sarah Efird, Anne Efird Decabooter, Elise Decabooter and Claire Decabooter.
It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, Doug’s memory may be honored by donations to The Luthersville Cemetery Trust Fund, c/o Dr. Bob Trammell, P.O. Box 270, Luthersville, GA 30251.
