Three arrested after shooting

Three men were arrested Wednesday night after one was shot attempting to break into a Coweta County home.

According to Coweta County Sheriff's Office Lt. Col. Yarbrough, around 11 p.m., Thomas Martin Eartly heard a loud bang coming from the back door of his house on 30 Shamrock Way. After the second bang, Eartly retrieved his hand gun, called 911 and went downstairs to investigate.

Eartly said he discovered a man with a flashlight attempting to break into his house, Yarbrough said. Eartly then fired one shot into the doorway, and he heard someone curse and run away. When Eartly investigated, he could not identify any suspects but did see a white car speeding off.

According to Yarbrough, K-9 Unit Deputy Trent Hastings was the closest to respond to the attempted burglary call, and as he pulled into the Irish Trace subdivision, he passed a silver Honda Accord speeding out.

Hastings could not turn around to chase the car because he was responding to the house, but his vehicle's equipped tag reader was able to put the Accord's license plate into the system, Yarbrough said.

A short time later in south Fulton County, Chattahoochee Hills police sighted the silver Accord and pulled it over for speeding. Police discovered two men in the front and another sprawled in the back seat with a gun shot wound near his belly button. According to Yarbrough, it seems the men got turned around attempting to find the nearest hospital.

The two suspects in the front seat, Traon Manual Moss, 18, and Rosendo Martez Key, 18, were charged with burglary in the first degree and were transported to the Coweta County Jail. 

The wounded man, Lardarian Tarrell Bridges, 19, who authorities believe was shot earlier by Eartly, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Bridges will be fully charged for the burglary once he recovers, Yarbrough said.
