The council of the new Three Rivers Regional Commission, at their meeting on Thursday, Sept. 24, elected a chairman and other officers.
Tim Lassetter, of the Coweta County Commission, was named chairman. Harvey Norris of the City of Flovilla is vice chairman and June Jackson of Heard County is secretary.
Three Rivers Regional Commission was formed as a result of Georgia House Bill 1216 and combines the former McIntosh Trail Regional Development Center and the Chattahoochee-Flint Regional Development Center.
The commission maintains offices in both Franklin and Griffin and serves Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, Troup and Upson counties.
Lanier Boatwright is executive director and is at the Griffin office at 120 North Hill Street.
