Two men charged with breaking into Hwy. 16 storage units

By John Winters

The Newnan Times-Herald

Two men were arrested over the weekend for breaking into Coweta area storage rental units and stealing items.

Charles Jeffery Boone, 49, and Joseph Eugene Waters, 45, were each charged with burglary, according to Coweta County Jail records.

The men were caught thanks in large part to the facility's owner.

"The owner saw their (the suspects') vehicle and knew it shouldn't be there," said Major Jimmy Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff's Office. "He then blocked the exit with his vehicle."

The owner of the storage rental business, Jenn's Storage Bins on Highway 16, then called authorities, who arrived to find the two suspects breaking into various units.

Yarbrough said the men stole a wide assortment of items, "basically, anything they could get their hands on."

Among the items found in the suspects' vehicle were televisions, washing machines, various tools and other electronics.
