Darius Cordez Harris, left, and Deontoni Kabah Brown

Suspects arrested following shooting involving GBI agents

The two men wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery of Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents on Wednesday in Manchester are in custody.

Darius Harris was arrested Friday by Manchester Police. Harris had a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was treated by EMS at the Manchester Police Department, according to spokesman John Bankhead of the GBI. Harris is currently being held at the Meriwether County Jail.

Further investigation into the incident by the GBI resulted in the charges against Deontoni Brown being dropped, Bankhead said. Brown turned himself in Thursday afternoon at the Manchester Police Department and is being held on an outstanding escape warrant out of Talbot County. He has been turned over to the Talbot County Sheriff's Department.

Kanarzay Montez Prather, 21, was arrested Wednesday at the scene of the incident at a residence at 913 Ira Parks Way in Manchester. Robez Owens, 22, also of Manchester, was arrested later that evening in connection with the assault.

Harris, Prather and Owens have been charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and criminal attempt to commit armed robbery.
