Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp reminds individuals in several professions of upcoming renewal deadlines.
Professions and dates are:
• Nov. 30: Plumbers.
• Dec. 31: Master Barbers, Chiropractors, Engineers, Land Surveyors, Landscape Architects, Pharmacists, Psychologists, and Veterinarians.
• Jan. 31: Registered Nurses –  Note that individual licenses may expire on either even or odd years. Please check your expiration date to determine when you must renew.
Individuals may complete their renewals online by visiting the Professional Licensing Boards (PLB) website at www.sos.ga.gov/plb . They may then select their respective licensing board and choose “License Renewal” via the Online Services drop down menu or Featured Content links to the right of the page.
“I encourage everyone to take advantage of our e-government solutions such as the PLB online renewal. It is a convenient and time saving solution available to everyone” said Kemp.
Kemp also reminds all licensed professionals that as of Jan. 1, 2012, Georgia Law requires all those applying for renewal of existing license to submit secure and verifiable documentation with their application. All applicants must comply regardless of how long they’ve been licensed and should include their full name and professional license number on any documentation submitted.
Examples of secure and verifiable documentation include driver’s license, U.S. passport, or green card. A detailed list of documents issued by the Office of the Attorney General may be found at http://www.sos.ga.gov/plb/svdlist.pdf .
Applicants can verify their completed renewal by checking for updated expiration dates via the PLB website using the Professional Licensee Search located on the Licensing Board Services listing on the right of the page.
