Information sought on Sunday shooting

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office is looking for individuals involved in a shooting at Shenandoah Forest Apartments on Sunday.

Lt. Col. Jimmy Yarbrough said the sheriff’s office received a call at 7:07 p.m. about a shooting in the parking lot area of the apartments at 8 Forest Circle. “No one was hurt,” Yarbrough said.

A car and one apartment were struck by bullets. Yarbrough said about 10 rounds were fired from a semi-automatic weapon — probably a 9 millimeter.

Yarbrough said the shooting is believed to stem from a fight earlier Sunday evening at Peachtree Landing. Shell casings and other evidence were gathered at the scene.

A late model burgundy Chevrolet Impala was driven to the apartment complex. In addition to the driver, there was a passenger who was hanging out the window of the car, Yarbrough said.

The sheriff’s office is looking for information on the crime. Anyone with information should call 770-253-1502 and ask for Investigator Jae Robinson.
