By John Winters

The Newnan Times-Herald

The First Baptist Church in Peachtree City was burglarized Sunday and authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information.

Officers with the Peachtree City Police Department were called to the church, located at 208 Willow Bend Road, about 7:15 a.m. Sunday. A preliminary investigation showed various audio/visual equipment was stolen.

A suspect was seen in the area during the days prior to the burglary, a police statement said.

The suspect was described as a white male, 6 feet 4 inches tall, heavy set build and weighing about 250 pounds. He also had a shaved head and was wearing a gray "hoodie" style sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The police department is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Anyone with information should call the Peachtree City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 770-631-2510.
