Count At 7,809
Pollen count 'Extremely High'

Despite an inch of rain overnight in Coweta County, the pollen count remains in the 'Extremely High' stage.
The Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic website is reporting a pollen count of 7,809 today. Pollens present include oak, birch, mulberry, pine and sycamore trees and nettle, sheep sorrel/dock weeds.
The count is slightly down from Thursday, dropping from 8,024 even though The Newnan Times-Herald weather station recorded 1.05 inches of rain last night and early Friday.
Rain does make another appearance in the local forecast on Sunday as the National Weather Service has called for a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., with a 30 percent chance that night.
Otherwise, sunny skies are forecast for the remainder of today and Saturday. The high today should be near 68 degrees with northwest wind at 15 mph, gusting to 20. The low tonight will be 42. On Saturday, the high will be near 75 with a low of 42. And on Sunday, the high should be 72.
