Police seek help in search for missing woman

Martha Irene Hemmings left her residence early Tuesday sometime after 9:30 a.m.

The Newnan Police Department is asking the public's help in locating a 58-year-old woman last seen Tuesday morning.

Martha Irene Hemmings left her residence early Tuesday sometime after 9:30 a.m., according to a police report. She is believed to be driving a 2006 Ford Fusion, black in color with Georgia license tag PD28M9.

She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall with gray hair and brown eyes and weighs approximately 150 pounds. She was last seen at 31 Mansour Circle in Newnan.

"Hemmings left her cell phone, debit card, and all other property to include her wedding rings, which she had labeled to whom they should be given to. Hemmings is considered an endangered missing person," according to the report.

Hemmings has attempted suicide twice before and last time was found at a Quality Inn in Carrollton.
