Person of Interest Identified in Threat to Local Business

A man who made a threat against a business in Coweta County, putting governmental entities in Newnan under security, has been identified.

According to a press release from Newnan Police Chief Douglas ‘Buster’ Meadows, the threat was made by an unknown man to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, and today, courthouses, postal facilities and schools in Newnan were placed under alert. Investigators with the NPD were able to identify a person of interest earlier today, and the threat has been lifted.
