No suspects arrested in Luthersville bank robbery

By Amy Lott

The Times-Herald

A manhunt involving Coweta County Sheriff's Office helicopters took place in Meriwether County Friday afternoon after an armed, masked man robbed a downtown Luthersville bank around lunchtime and fled on foot, say local officials.

According to Luthersville Mayor Bob Trammell, the male suspect entered the Meriwether Bank and Trust through a back door, approached teller windows with a gun, took money and exited the way he had come -- all in under one minute.

Trammell said that to his knowledge, the offender had not been caught as of Tuesday morning.

"Local law enforcement officials and the GBI are on the case," he said.

No one was reported injured in the incident.
