Newnan Man Sentenced In Federal Child Pornography Case

A Newnan resident and former Union City, Ga., firefighter has been sentenced to five years in federal prison.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Public Affairs Office, Justin D. Corley, 31, of Newnan, pleaded guilty in federal court in Newnan to receiving child pornography on July 9, 2013. In February of 2012, a forensic examination of Corley’s laptop computer revealed more than 9,000 images of child pornography.

On Friday, he was sentenced to five years in federal prison followed by a 15-year supervised release period. He was additionally fined a $1,000 restitution fee.
