Newnan Home Burglarized Wednesday Morning

A Newnan homeowner walked in on a burglar in his home around noon Wednesday, and Newnan Police are still searching for the suspect.

Around 11:30 a.m., Johnny Hanna was outside in his yard on Mansour Circle with his dog, and when he walked inside the home, he found a man standing in his kitchen wearing a hood and a mask. According to Newnan Police Chief Douglas “Buster” Meadows, Hanna locked the burglar in the kitchen, but the burglar still fled the home. It is believed the suspect stole a large tub filled with quarters.

Police searched the area, but were unable to find the suspect, Meadows said. The investigation is ongoing.
