Though municipal election time is 10 months away, Coweta's cities have been setting the qualifying fees for the Nov. 3 voting.
Newnan, Senoia, Grantville, Sharpsburg, Turin and Moreland will be voting on council members, and Newnan, Senoia and Turin will also have races for mayor.
Newnan Mayor Keith Brady confirmed Thursday that he will be seeking a fifth term.
In addition to voting for mayor, Newnan voters will choose council members from wards B and E.
Ward B covers the northwest portion of the city and is currently represented by Rhodes Shell.
Ward E is a "super district" made up of Ward A, which covers the northern and eastern-most portions of the city, and Ward B. It is currently represented by Ray Dubose.
Senoia Mayor Robert Belisle said he is "leaning toward" running for a third term.
Currently, Senoia officials serve two-year terms, but the city is working with state Rep. Billy Horne to change the terms to four years.
Assuming that local legislation making the change passes the Georgia General Assembly this year, the mayor and council members elected in November will serve four-year terms.
Also up in 2009 are the Senoia Council seats currently held by Larry Owens and Keith Harrison.
Turin Mayor Alan Starr has only been in office a little over a week. The former councilman was appointed to the mayor's post after the retirement of Mayor Allen Smith.
"I think I would like to run again," said Starr. "I was going to base my final decision on how the year went, and to make sure I can still be of help," he said. "As long as I can be of help to the city, then I will absolutely run."
Also up this year in Turin will be the election for Starr's former council post and the post currently held by George Harris. When Starr became mayor, Amanda Brack was appointed to serve out Starr's unexpired term.
In Grantville, council posts three and four, currently held by Nick Sasso and Rochelle Jabaley, are up for election.
In Sharpsburg, the council seats currently held by Keith Rhodes and Gordy Anderson are up in November. Rhodes and Anderson were elected to two-year terms so that the council posts would be staggered. The councilmen elected in November will serve four-year terms.
And in Moreland, two seats on the board of aldermen are up this year. The seats are currently held by Jeff Burgess and Myron McLain.
The city of Haralson has no council posts up this year.
