Mary Ray group meets Tuesday
The Mary Ray Memorial Schoolhouse Group will meet today.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the small building behind the historic school. The school is located just off Highway 16 in the Raymond Community between Newnan and Sharpsburg.
A dinner meeting will be held with members bring chili and fixings -- cornbread, dessert and drinks."
The group is working to restore the century old structure for use as a community center. Volunteers recently held a successful Christmas Bazaar to raise money for the project. "We made over $800," said Anita Keith, secretary for the organization.
Membership is $25 per year. Dues may be sent to: The Mary Ray Memorial Schoolhouse Fund, 771 R-Shedden Ave., Newnan, GA 30265.
