A single-family home in North Coweta County was heavily damaged by fire on Sunday night.
Coweta County firefighters responded to a 911 call around 11:45 p.m. from a neighbor to a house located at 166 Maplecreek Drive, just north of Buddy West Road.  The first unit on the scene – Engine 6 of the Hwy 29/Hal Jones Road station – reported that the 4,000 sq. ft. home had heavy fire showing from the inside and through the roof.
Two firefighters from the Engine 6 unit attacked the fire initially through the front door using a hand line. The two were forced out due to the fire's intensity. After a water supply was established from a street hydrant, firefighters used Ladder Truck 8 to extinguish the remaining fire.
No one was injured in the blaze as the homeowners were out of town at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Other units that responded to the fire were Engines 2 and 14 as well as Rescue 1.
