Man run over by his own truck

By Elizabeth Richardson

The Times-Herald

A man run over by his own truck on Temple Avenue in Newnan Tuesday morning was said to be in good condition Tuesday afternoon at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Johnny Henry, of 38 Hill Street, parked his 1981 Ford F-100 truck at 72 Temple Avenue just before 10 a.m. when he exited and realized it wasn't in park, according to Lt. Nat Brown of the Newnan Police Department.

The truck began rolling down the driveway and into the roadway and Henry attempted to stop it, according to Brown.

The rolling vehicle "knocked him to the ground," where he "got caught up in it and it ran him over," said Brown.

Henry was conscious and alert on the scene, although he told emergency responders that the truck ran over his head.

Brown said Henry did have blood on the left side of his head and that his hat ended up under a tire.
