Man dead after fight in Peachtree City
One man is dead after a fight incident in Peachtree City.
On Saturday, June 28, at approximately 2:36 a.m., the Peachtree City Police Department responded to a report of a fight in progress call at the Red Room located in the West Park Walk Shopping Center. Officers received a report that two subjects were physically assaulted by an unknown person(s) when they exited the bar.
Witnesses at the scene reported that, at the time of the assaults, a crowd had gathered in front of the establishment.
One of the injured, Devan Abercrombie, 32, of Hampton, Ga., was transported by helicopter ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
On July 5, Peachtree City Police Department was notified that at approximately 1:20 p.m., Abercrombie succumbed to his injuries and died.
At the request of the Fayette County Coroner's Office an autopsy has been ordered by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. As of Monday, Peachtree City criminal investigators continued to investigate the case and are developing and following-up on new leads. Peachtree City police were also meeting with Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard Monday, as multiple charges may be pending in this case.

The red room waitresses are skeezy and nasty! Anyone who dates them is desperate. The food is bad and the drinks are too expensive. P.S. Learn how to spell "surronding", good looking. Less drinking and more reading would help!

The red room is by far the best place to hang out in Fayette, Coweta or anywhere surronding. If you don't want to drive to ATL, come to the red room. This could have happened anywhere and is a tragic story. RED ROOM is awesome!!!

Where did this happen? Oh yeah in Fayette County. The Times Herald (in Newnan) has no obligation to make mention of their news. Have you read a newspaper from Fayette Co. or PTC? I'm sure it was in their news. And why are you making this a race issue?

the fact that the assault itself failed to make headlines is what I'm talking about. Of course had it occurred on the cart paths it would have made the front page.

"aiight", His death didn't happen until the 5th. Until then it was just a dispute that would make its way to the PTC newspaper in due time. And where does it say the race of either party?? You are making too many assumptions.

Figures it would take, what? Almost TEN DAYS for this to become public; after all we wouldn't want anything to hinder the attendance at the fourth of july festivities, ya know, something like black on white crime happening right under the bubble???

i don't think mr.scott should be charge with murder,now assault maybe the charge.no weapon was use it was just a punch and the man didn't die right away what was a week later. race don't have anything to do with it' so could you all stop saying that
