Local truck driver dies in Illinois
A Newnan truck driver was fatally injured Wednesday in Gallatin County, Ill., when his tractor-trailer ran off the roadway and crashed, according to media outlets in Sparta, Ky.
The driver, who has been identified as 42-year-old Samuel Utomi, was reportedly ejected from the tractor-trailer in the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His rig caught fire and exploded following the crash.
The accident reportedly occurred just north of Kentucky at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
