Senoia officials invite everyone to get into the spirit of the holidays with "Light Up Senoia," which kicks off the season Saturday with a festive parade through downtown.
"Light Up Senoia" will include decorated floats, live music and entertainment by local schools and civic groups.
For the kids, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, along with pony rides and the lighting of the big tree at Main Street Square.
Parents may bring their cameras to take a photo of their child with Santa. Children will be able to purchase gifts on their own at the "Secret Santa Workshop."
For hungry spectators, the food court opens at 4 p.m. The parade begins at 5:30.
Charlie Filkins and Scott Sargeant, "The Car Guys" of Nulink TV Channel 10 and NBC 38 WLTZ in Columbus and "High Octane Radio" 92.5FM "The Bear," will emcee the event.
Continuing the holiday fun, the famous Budweiser Clydesdales will be coming to Senoia for their visit the following weekend a few hours later than initially announced. The horses and wagon now are set to arrive in downtown Senoia at 3 p.m. on Dec. 13.
Senoia will also hold a holiday Tour of Homes on Dec. 14.
The tour of homes will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door -- available at the Senoia Welcome Center, Gail's Antiques, Senoia Coffee Company, and Second Hand Sam's. Tickets the day of the event can be purchased at the Senoia Buggy Shop Museum on Main Street.
