A suspected drug dealer was hit twice with an electronic stun gun before being brought down by Coweta authorities during a recent drug bust.

Tancredo Carpio, who authorities say is an illegal immigrant, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine after the arrest at the Marathon gas station parking lot off the Collinsworth Road exit on Interstate 85 in north Coweta, according to Lieutenant Colonel Jimmy Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff's Office. The arrest occurred Friday around 8 p.m.

"We had some information that he was coming down," Yarbrough said. "We had a description of the vehicle and just went up there to see if he would show up."

As Carpio pulled into the parking lot and got out of his vehicle, investigators approached.

"As soon as he saw us he figured who were were and started running," the colonel said.

Investigators gave chase and tased Carpio twice before he finally went down. Officers found 29 grams of meth in his pockets, Yarbrough said.

Carpio was charged with trafficking meth, according to jail records.

In another drug bust, a 37-year-old woman was charged with five counts of possession of narcotics.

Tonya Guest sold meth to undercover agents last week on U.S. Highway 29 North near Palmetto, Yarbrough said.

Soon after the sale, authorities pulled her over and arrested her, he added. Guest was found with a quarter ounce of meth and at least 50 prescription pills

She was charged with five counts of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, according to jail records.
