Newnan-Coweta Humane Society is holding its "Fur Ball" benefit, the first of a series of events to raise enough money to bring a low-cost spay and neuter clinic to the Newnan-Coweta community by December 2010.
Organizers are asking the community to join in this effort to combat the unchecked birth rate for dogs and cats in Coweta County.
The kickoff for this much needed clinic is the dinner/ dance. The "Fur Ball" Dinner/ Dance will be Saturday at 6 p.m. at Something Special on Greenville Street in Newnan. It will include a three-course dinner, a jazz band for dancing, and a silent auction and door prizes to mark the beginning of a yearlong fundraising effort for the clinic.
Tickets are available at 770-253-4694, through the society's Web site, http://www.nchsrescue.org , by e-mail at nchs_rescue@numail.org , or you can purchase from NCHS representatives. It's a $40 donation for singles, and a $75 donation per couple.

We are staying at a local hotel and there are at least four strays running around. Spay your cats. If you want a cheap option, google "project catsnip" and see when they are coming somewhere nearby.
