If gas prices reach $5 per gallon by Memorial Day as many are predicting, will you seriously consider purchasing a more fuel-efficient automobile?

A write-in candidate, Jimmy Harrison, qualified this week to run for the Coweta County Board of Education.
Harrison is running for the District One seat being vacated by Steve Bedrosian.
He joins candidates Amy Dees and Andrew Krause.
A third candidate, Larry Robertson, dropped out of the race after determining he did not live in District One. The districts for the school board and the Coweta County Board of Commissioners are slightly different -- Robertson had been using the commission districts as a guide.
The other school board race is between incumbent Michael Sumner and challenger April Parker for the District One At-Large seat. That seat is voted on county-wide; district seats are voted on only by voters in that district.
Harrison was one of two candidates to qualify as a write-in this week.
Dick Ford, a member of the Moreland Board of Aldermen, missed municipal qualifying by a few hours. He qualified as a write-in instead.
No one qualified for the other seat on the Moreland Board, currently held by Karen King.
That seat will likely remain vacant until a special election can be held.
