The new Grantville library being constructed adjacent to the new ball field is taking shape, and Coweta County Library System officials shared some recent photos of the structure going up.
Ed Adams of the Grantville Library Board told the Grantville City Council at its most recent meeting that there's "a lot to update" since "we're currently under construction on a brand-new Grantville library."
He said the library construction project has fallen "slightly behind" due to "weather and economics."
He said that all four Coweta library branches are working to coordinate their offerings and programs.
"We are coordinating with the library media specialists to really focus in," said Adams.
Councilwoman Rochelle Jabaley asked if an opening date has been established for the library.
"Right now, we don't have a solid date," answered Adams. "But we're looking at possibly the late spring or early summer of 2010."
When it comes to the Senoia library and its recent conflicts with the county system, "I can't say too much," said Adams.
"But the chair of the library board is looking into the matter to see what's going on on both sides," he said. "They are looking to see what happened, and why."
Adams was unanimously appointed to a new two-year term on the library board.

Grantville can get a new library but they can't even get a grocery store.
