Grantville's annual Christmas tree lighting event will be held Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.
The tree lighting will be held "at the Old Freight Depot in the middle of town," said Councilwoman Debi Rogers.
The festivities will begin with songs performed by the Glanton Elementary Chorus, followed by the lighting of the tree, she said.
"This year, Ann Long and Janet, Raiford and Morgan Crews will be lighting the tree for us," said Rogers. "They have been generous in the past and donated our tree last year, and they are supplying a tree for our event this year, too."
Santa will arrive at about 7:40 in the evening to hear Christmas wish lists.
"Hot chocolate will be served to keep everyone warm," said Rogers.
Main Street and Grant Street will be blocked off beginning at 6:40.
"We had such a wonderful turnout last year for our lighting," said Rogers, and she hopes this year's event will be just as well-attended.
If anyone has questions, they can contact Rogers at Grantville City Hall at 770-583-2289.
"This event is my baby and I am so looking forward to it again this year," she said.
