Christian recording artist Kevin R. Dunn will be featured on "The 700 Club Interactive" on Thursday.
The segment with Dunn is scheduled to be broadcast at 9:30 a.m. on ABC Family Channel. Dunn -- a native of Lanett, Ala. -- currently resides in LaGrange. He has shared his musical talents at St. Smyrna Baptist Church, Smokey Road Middle School and other locations in Coweta County.
It is Dunn's volunteer spirit that earned him a spot on the television show. "I've been volunteering to sing at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange once a week for the last nine years," Dunn said. "I sing a capella and most of my songs are hymns."
Among the favorites he sings are "How Great Thou Art," "In the Garden," "Blessed Assurance" and "Amazing Grace."
Every Monday afternoon, Dunn sings in every main pod at the nursing home -- with each pod leading to four rooms. "Sometimes, someone will open a door, step out and listen while I sing. Other times, I sing for 30 or 40 minutes and never see anyone," he said.
Christian Broadcasting Network produces "The 700 Club Interactive." Jonathan Scott interviewed Dunn for the CBN program a few weeks ago.
"I'm blessed to be able and offer words of encouragement and talk with patients and family members, even though I mostly minister through song," Dunn said.
