The East Coweta High School Band, as well as the Newnan High Marching Cats high school band, will march in the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta parade.
They will join Santa Claus and his reindeer along the streets of downtown Atlanta for one of the Southeast's premier holiday parades.
Now in its 29th year, the Children's Christmas Parade kicks off the holiday season Dec. 5, running from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The parade begins at Peachtree Street near Baker Street. The route follows Peachtree Street, turns right onto Marietta Street and finishes along Centennial Olympic Park Drive. It is free and open to the public.
For those seeking front-row access, $12 tickets for reserved bleacher seating went on sale Oct. 1. The Children's Christmas Parade will also air live on WSB-TV Channel 2 (ABC).
Attendees are encouraged to use MARTA for event transportation. The Five Points and Peachtree Center stations are within walking distance of the parade route. Visit www.choa.org/parade for more information.
Attracting more than 300,000 spectators annually, it is the largest Christmas parade in the Southeast. Proceeds will help fund programs and equipment to serve the patients and families at Children's Healthcare.
