East Broad to be closed at railroad

By John Winters

The Newnan Times-Herald

East Broad Street at the railroad crossing in downtown Newnan is expected to be closed for about two days later this month for railroad track maintenance.

The CSX project involves the tracks from West Point to Newnan. Work is expected to begin Monday and go through Feb. 24 along the route.

The exact date as to when East Broad will be closed is not yet known, and CSX is to notify City of Newnan officials when they are close to the East Broad section.

Traffic will be detoured from U.S. Highway 29 to East Washington Street to Farmer Street.
