Downtown Newnan will play host to tiny witches and princesses and pint-sized soldiers, ghosts and firefighters this morning.
The Preschool Trick or Treat organized by Main Street Newnan will be held this morning -- with shorter hours than in years past. Participating shops and offices will have treats for youngsters from 10 a.m.-noon. (The hours listed previously were incorrect.)
Weather permitting, there also will be a free movie -- "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" -- at First Avenue Park Friday at 6:30 p.m. Parents bringing youngsters to either Main Street Newnan event are asked to bring a canned good for each family member.
"We are encouraging people to drop off canned goods on each corner of the square throughout the day on Friday," Linda Kee of Main Street said. The food from trick or treat and the movie will go to the Coweta Community Food Pantry.
