A railroad crossing closure is planned Thursday on the Newnan bypass just off Carrollton Highway/State Route 16 West.
The Georgia Department of Transportation has a detour in place for the work, said DOT spokeswoman Kimberly Larson.
The railroad crossing work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and last until approximately 7 p.m., Thursday, February 21, weather permitting, she said.
This is at the Norfolk Southern Railroad crossing on State Route 34 Bypass near State Route 16 West.
A detour will be posted using State Route 16 to State Route 34 West/Franklin Road.
"Motorists are asked to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones," said Larson.
