Wind Advisory for Coweta County, no flood watches issued

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. –  The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says a Wind Advisory is in effect today until 7 p.m. for part of north and most of central Georgia, including Coweta County.
Winds will be from the south at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph, generally from mid-morning through the afternoon.
Neighboring counties Troup, Meriwether, Spalding, Fayette, Fulton, Douglas, Carroll and Heard will also be under the Wind Advisory.
Though no Flood Watches have been issued, The Newnan Times-Herald Weather Station has recorded a total of 1.44 inches of rain since midnight as of 6:30 a.m. A total of 4.19 inches of rain has fallen in downtown Newnan since Thursday.  Rainfall totals in the last several days include .02 of an inch (Thursday, Feb. 21), 1.52 inches (Friday, Feb. 22), .90 of an inch (Saturday, Feb. 23), .01 of an inch (Sunday, Feb. 24) and .30 of an inch (Monday, Feb. 25).
Today's forecast is a 100 percent chance of rain with a high near 61 to go along with the gusty winds.
