Updated: Coweta County Schools closed Monday/Event info

From Coweta County Schools Public Information Office Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, all Coweta County Schools are closed for staff and students on Monday, March 2. Only administrative and other 12-month employees should report.
Schools will reopen on Tuesday, March 3. Most after-school practices and student or parent events on Monday, March 2 have been cancelled and will be rescheduled as necessary. Parents or students can contact their school to check the status of school activities if they are uncertain. A partial list of school activities is below: Northgate High School: All athletic and non-athletic activities and events have been cancelled this evening and will be rescheduled. The Northgate School Council meeting has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. The “8th to 9th grade” meeting at Northgate for middle school parents and students has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled. East Coweta High School: All after-school practices have been cancelled; after-school athletic competitions are cancelled and will be rescheduled. Advanced Placement (AP) Night has been cancelled; Newnan High School: All after-school practices have been cancelled; after-school athletic competitions are cancelled and will be rescheduled. The out-of-town Band Ensemble festival has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. The Centre for Performing and Visual Arts: The Chorus Pre-Festival Concert for Arnall Middle, East Coweta Middle and Lee Middle School students has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. Arnall Middle: All athletic and non-athletic activities and events have been cancelled this evening and will be rescheduled. The 8th to 9th grade meeting at Northgate for middle school parents and students has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled. The Chorus Pre-Festival Concert at the Performing Arts Center will has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. East Coweta Middle: All athletic and non-athletic activities and events have been cancelled this evening and will be rescheduled. The 8th to 9th grade meeting at Northgate for middle school parents and students has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled. The Chorus Pre-Festival Concert at the Performing Arts Center will has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. Smokey Road Middle School: All athletic and non-athletic activities and events have been cancelled this evening and will be rescheduled. The Junior Law Enforcement Academy meeting that was scheduled tonight at the Sheriff’s Department has not been cancelled (participating students will be notified by phone if the status changes). The 8th to 9th grade meeting at Northgate for middle school parents and students has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled. Lee Middle School: All athletic and non-athletic activities and events have been cancelled this evening and will be rescheduled. The 8th to 9th grade meeting at Northgate for middle school parents and students has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled. The Chorus Pre-Festival Concert at the Performing Arts Center will has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. Glanton Elementary: The Glanton School Council meeting and the PTO meeting have been cancelled and will be rescheduled. Thomas Crossroads Elementary: The Coweta County Soccer Association Board of Directors educational seminar will be held as scheduled in the school’s cafeteria.
