The Coweta County Commission’s first meeting of the new year will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. Commission meetings are held in the county commission chambers on Perry Street, above the tax assessors’ office in Newnan.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Jan. 3, but was rescheduled by the commissioners in December. The agenda for the meeting is short. Items include beginning of the year appointments, including the naming of the commission chairman, vice chairman, counsel, clerk, and deputy clerk. Other new year’s items include setting the meeting dates and times for the next year, the adoption of rules governing the commission meetings, and chairman’s appointments. Other items on the agenda include: • A vote on an agreement with the Georgia Trauma Commission. • Appointments to various boards and authorities. • Execution of certificates of appointments for the Coweta County Board of Elections. • A request to surplus kitchen equipment previously used by the Coweta County Prison.
