The Budweiser Clydesdales, the horse team made famous from the beverage company's holiday TV commercials, will be making at least two public stops in Coweta County this Christmas season.
The team will be at Ashley Park in Newnan Dec. 11 from 5-7 p.m., as part of the shopping center's free holiday events.
Senoia will also host a stop by the Clydesdales on Dec. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. Senoia's Christmas Tour of Homes will be that same day, from 5 to 8 p.m. -- for information call Gail Downs at 770-599-9155 or Suzanne Helfman at 770-599-8182.
The horses and their wagon will travel up and down Main Street in Senoia and then stop for fans.
This is the third year the Clydesdales have visited Senoia.
"They're a huge draw for people, and especially at Christmas," Helfman said. "It draws so many people who just want a chance to look at these really magnificent creatures. To see them up close is just different," Helfman said.
Downtown Senoia shops, usually closed on Sundays, will be open Dec. 13, Helfman said.
Ashley Park in Newnan will have several free activities the next two weekends, according to spokeswoman Kristy Pruitt.
There will be free carriage rides sponsored by Southtowne Saturday, Dec. 5, and again on Dec. 12 and Dec. 19 from noon until 5 p.m.
Meet Santa Claus at Dillard's -- Dec. 5, 5:30 - 9 p.m.; Dec. 6, 1- 6 p.m.; Dec. 12, 5 - 9 p.m.; and Dec. 13, noon -4 p.m.
Story time sessions are also planned for the kids.At Limetreem story time dates are Dec. 18, 2 -2:30 p.m.; Dec. 20, 2 -2:30 p.m.; Dec. 22, 2 -2:30 p.m.; and Dec. 24, 2 -2:30 p.m.
Story time at Barnes & Noble dates are: Dec. 19, 2 -2:30 p.m.; Dec. 21, 2 -2:30 p.m.; and Dec. 23, 2 -2:30 p.m.
Free gift wrapping will be offered, sponsored by Pakmail & Crossroads Church Saturday, Dec. 5, and again Dec. 12 and 19, from 10 to 4 p.m.
Weekend holiday musicals will be presented at Ashley Park by local high school talent and churches later in December.
