Do you think the City of Newnan should have waited until at least mid-month to begin hanging its Christmas decorations in downtown rather than the first week in November?

Work is progressing swiftly on the culvert replacement project on Canongate Road that is detouring traffic.
The road was closed June 1 near the Persimmon Creek neighborhood.
Drivers have been detoured to Palmetto-Tyrone at Weldon Road where a temporary traffic light has been erected.
So far, there have been no problems reported with the traffic light. There have been no crashes at the intersection since the light was installed, according to the Coweta County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia State Patrol.
Crews have almost completed pouring the concrete for the culverts, said Patricia Palmer, Coweta County public information officer.
The project consists of a double 8-by-8 culvert. The two eight-foot-wide sections, placed side by side, are just over 120 feet long, Palmer said.
Wing walls still have to be poured, and then the concrete will have to cure, she said.
The actual culvert construction is on track to be completed the first week of July, Palmer said.
If the weather holds, the road should be open to traffic before school starts in August, she said. Teachers return on Aug. 4, and students start the 2009-2010 school year on Aug. 7.
