by Newnan Times-Herald Staff

The CSX rail crossing on Minnie Sewell Road did not open to the traveling public as planned on Saturday afternoon, April 20.

Coweta County officials were advised Monday morning that CSX plans to lay the asphalt Tuesday, April 23, after lunch, and reopen the crossing to the traveling public on Thursday morning, April 25, said county spokesperson Tom Corker.

Message boards are in place to assist the traveling public.

CSX reports that repairs to the Groover Road crossing are scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, and Wednesday, April 24. Any changes in that schedule will be posted as soon as possible, he said.
