-- Main Street Newnan sponsors caroling 6-8 p.m. today and a community bake sale to launch the two-day "Festival of Lights."

A dozen non-profits will set up around the Court Square to sell baked goods and raise money for their respective causes, said Newnan Director of Business Development and Main Street Linda Kee.

Newnan High School chorus sings on South Court Square at 6 p.m.

Long-sleeved T-shirts go to the first 150 people who show up to go caroling. Participants will be given sheet music with lyrics to popular Christmas songs and led on a course through historic district neighborhoods.

-- Main Street, today and Saturday, offers 15-minute horse-drawn carriage rides through the historic district in the famous Cinderella carriage. Rides are $20 per family. Sign up for a time slot with Tina Darby, Main Street event coordinator, tdarby@cityofnewnan.org.

-- Annual live nativity at CORRAL barn, 52 Oliver Potts Road in Roscoe, continues 7 p.m. today and Saturday.

Coweta Organization for Riding, Rehabilitation and Learning's presentation includes horses and other live animals, including a donkey and sheep. A taped narration tells the story of Jesus' birth in the stable at Bethlehem. Volunteers in colorful costumes play the parts of Mary, Joseph, the shepherd, the wise men and the innkeeper. -- Sharpsburg Merchants Association holds free viewing of "A Christmas Memory" today at 7 p.m. at the A&O Bridges Community Center.
