Cindy Bennett, assistant principal at Lee Middle School, is a finalist for the Bennett finalist for 2010 Georgia Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year award.
The award is given by the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals Association. In addition to Bennett, finalists are Rodney Kay, Heard County High School; Brenda Thomas, Veterans Middle School, Columbus; and Kimberly Williams, Morgan County Middle School.
The finalists will go through an interview process to determine the winner. The interviews will be conducted at the GAMSP/GASSP Fall Conference at Callaway Gardens on Saturday where the winner will be announced.
The Assistant Principal of the Year recognition program is sponsored by Horace Mann and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
The Georgia winner will represent the state in the competition for Assistant National Principal of the Year. The Assistant Principal of the Year program recognizes assistant principals who excel in educational leadership, resolving complex problems, developing self and others and community service.
