JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Police in suburban Atlanta say a social worker accused of carrying illegal drugs while driving a mentally disabled man to a group home has been arrested.

Jonesboro Police Chief, Franklin Allen, told WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/193Wblp) Division of Family and Children Services employee Ericka Thompson was stopped because of an expired tag Saturday and the responding officer smelled marijuana in her car.

During a search, Allen says the responding officer found marijuana, along with small amounts of cocaine and Oxycontin.

Allen says 38-year-old Thompson is charged with drug possession and driving with an expired tag.

It was not immediately clear if Thompson had an attorney.
