1 person dead, 1 wounded in Augusta shooting

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another wounded in Augusta.

Richmond County sheriff's officials say deputies discovered the slaying early Tuesday morning, while responding to a call to Broad Street near the exit ramp leading to South Carolina.

Investigators tell The Augusta Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1hWMqXQ) that one person died and a second person suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Few other details were available early Tuesday morning.
