Television and movie actress Brooke Shields visited Newnan recently while filming a new movie.
A local resident, Beth Stephens, spotted her eating at Golden's on the Square in Newnan. According to Stephens, she and her sister were sitting in Golden's eating, when her sister told her that Shields was there, as well. Stephens saw Shields but did not believe it was her.
The sisters soon devised a plan to affirm that it was, in fact, Shields. They were going to get Stephens' daughter, also named Brooke, to go stand near Shields' table, and when she had, they were going to call her name to see if Brooke would turn her head.
Unfortunately, they were not able to implement their master plan, but a Golden's employee informed Stephens that it was really Brooke Shields that had been in there.
Shields started to leave, and a couple of people went out with her. Stephens followed. Outside, she found a car waiting for Shields along with the actress herself. Shields took a picture with a person who went outside with her. Before she left, Stephens was able to get one as well.
Shields. 44, is in Georgia filming a movie entitled "Destination Home" or "The Greening of Whitney Brown," depending on who you ask -- the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Internet Movie Database, respectively.
According to IMDB, Aidan Quinn and Kris Kristofferson will also have roles in the upcoming movie. The film tells the story of a spoiled Philadelphia girl who moves to the country where she "befriends an amazing horse" and learns some important lessons about family and life, according to the IMDB.
Shields is a native of New York City. She began acting as a child and has appeared in such films as "Pretty Baby," "The Blue Lagoon," "Brenda Starr," "The Bachelor," "What Makes a Family" and "The Midnight Meat Train."
She starred in and produced the television series "Suddenly Susan" and has appeared on such television show as "That 70's Show," "Law and Order:Criminal Intent," "Nip/Tuck," "Two and a Half Men" and "Hannah Montana."
Once married to tennis player Andre Agassi, Shields has been married to Chris Henchy -- a producer, writer and actor -- since 2001. They have two children.
