Assistant principals named at Coweta schools

The Coweta County Board of Education appointed new assistant principals for system schools during a called board meeting on Tuesday.

Melissa Brubaker will become an assistant principal at East Coweta High School. Brubaker currently serves as lead counselor at East Coweta High School.

David Dement will become an assistant principal at East Coweta High School. Dement currently serves as a social science teacher at Newnan High School.

James Fowler will become an assistant principal at Welch Elementary school. Fowler is currently a social science teacher at Griffin High School.

Jessica Slaton will become an assistant principal at Evans Middle School. Slaton currently serves as a special education teacher at Smokey Road Middle School.

The school board has also appointed new counselors to several schools. They include Pamela Lewis, who will become a counselor at Newnan High School; Geulia Boddie, who will become a counselor at East Coweta High School; Dixie Johnson, who will become a counselor at Eastside Elementary School; and Jennifer Kennemur, who will become a counselor at Newnan Crossing Elementary School.
