Summer food program in Newnan, Senoia

The Housing Authority of Newnan, through its Breakaway Childcare Center, is offering a free summer food program with sites in Newnan and Senoia.

Meals are provided to all children without charge.

Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all children, notes Alfrieda W. Thomas, executive director of the Housing Authority of Newnan’s childcare program.

The lunch sites and hours include: 17 Hampton Place in Newnan, noon to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 3 p.m., and at 53 Middle Street in Senoia, with hours noon to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 3 p.m.

To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential camp, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children who are part of households that receive food stamps or benefits under programs such as Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible to receive free meals.
