WGTC names Ludlow associate provost

West Georgia Technical College has welcomed Peter Ludlow as the new associate provost for the Coweta Campus.

“We are absolutely delighted that Peter is joining us,” said Dr. Skip Sullivan, president of the school.  “His enthusiasm and passion for educating the workforce is unparalleled. His background and experience is an asset to this college and to the Coweta Campus.”

Ludlow brings more than 15 years experience with the Georgia Department of Labor  at the Newnan Career Center.

At the Newnan Career Center, Ludlow started as the employer marketing representative, and then moved up to supervisor before departing as manager. Prior to his time with the Labor Department, he served in the U.S. Army for 20 years.

Ludlow received a bachelor of arts degree from St. Leo University and a master of science degree from the University of North Florida. However, he credits his educational success to his time in a two-year college.

“It was a two-year junior college that gave me a chance to restart my life,” said Ludlow. “My life was changed, because someone took the time and provided some quality guidance. I will take the time and effort to do for others what someone did for me.”

As associate provost for the Coweta Campus, Ludlow will lead the oversight of the soon-to-open new campus, while engaging the local community and removing the barriers for student success. The new Coweta Campus is set to open this fall.

Ludlow assumed his duties at WGTC on Monday.

“What I hope to accomplish as the associate provost for our Coweta Campus is to establish WGTC as an internal part of our community – that we develop programs, services and business relationships that meets the needs and wants of our community,” he said.
