Road work on Hwy. 34 East begins Monday

Highway crews will be doing maintenance work on Georgia Highway 34 East in Coweta County starting Monday.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled lane closures for the work, which will be daily, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through May 31, weather permitting.

The section of Georgia Highway 34 involved is near McCollum-Sharpsburg Road.

The Georgia DOT has scheduled a single-lane closure in order for crews to perform roadway maintenance, said DOT regional spokeswoman Kimberly Larson. Two lanes will remain open for motorists traveling through the work zone.
