New principals announced for 5 schools

Five Coweta County schools will have new principals in 2013-14, after action by Coweta County Board of Education Tuesday night.

There will be familiar faces at two high schools as Assistant Principal Chase Puckett takes over at Newnan High School and Assistant Principal/ Athletic Director Bill Harrison assumes the helm at Northgate High School.

In executive session Tuesday, the school board selected the two assistant principals to replace Dr. Doug Moore of Newnan High and Dr. Terese Reddekopp of Northgate, who are headed for administrative positions at the school system's central office at the end of the school year.

Replacements for retiring principals at three other Coweta County schools also were chosen: Cindy Bennett, who will take over for Dr. Bob Heaberlin at Lee Middle School; Andy Clark, who will replace Cheryl Sanborn at White Oak Elementary School; and Julie Durrance, who will head Arbor Springs Elementary School with the retirement of Patti Faulk.
