The Coweta County Board of Education will be holding a Whole Board Training Session today, followed by a budget meeting.
The training session will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 237 Jackson St. and will be followed by a Budget Committee meeting until 8:30.
According to Dean Jackson, public information officer for the school system, the training session will be held by Laura Reilly from the Georgia School Boards Association, and will focus on two accreditation standards, Strategic Planning and AndvancED Standards, formerly known as SACS.
'Our school system is undergoing a renewal of its long-range strategic planning this year, using those accreditation standards as a model, in preparation for a subsequent renewal of our school system accreditation in two years,' Jackson said.
Jackson said the budget meeting will review the school system's operational budget since July, and the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax budget, which provides for school construction, renovations and other capital projects.
