Beverly Park home damaged in fire

On Monday, Coweta County Fire Department firefighters responded to a house fire in the Beverly Park subdivision.
The initial call indicated victims possibly trapped inside, but no residents were found in the home, authorities said.
At 5:50 p.m., personnel from Stations 1, 4 and 9 with the Coweta County Fire Department were dispatched to 315 Widgeon Drive in the Beverly Park subdivision, said Assistant Fire Chief Mitch Coggin. Units arrived to find the home 30 percent involved with heavy fire conditions in the attic.
According to Coggin, firefighters performed a quick search of the home and did not find any victims inside. Later, when family members arrived, authorities learned the residents were not at home.
Firefighters were on scene for around two hours extinguishing the fire, and the home suffered extensive damage throughout. There were no injuries.
The accident is still under investigation, but is not considered suspicious at this time.
Coggin said the fire department would like to thank Joshua Collins and Christopher Hall, who assisted first arriving units by pulling out the hoses at the scene.
